Cookie policy
Last updated 27 October 2026
Lane4 uses only the cookies and similar browser storage it needs to work: to keep you signed in, load your club quickly and remember choices you make. There are no analytics, tracking or advertising cookies, so there's nothing to opt in or out of. The law (PECR) allows strictly necessary storage like this without consent, but you should still know what it is.
What Lane4 stores on your device
| Name | What it's for | How long |
|---|---|---|
firebaseLocalStorageDb | Keeps you signed in (Google Firebase sign-in). | Until you sign out |
firestore/… | A copy of your club's information on your device, so pages load quickly and work offline. | Cleared when you sign out or clear site data |
lane4-theme | Your light or dark mode choice. | Until you change it |
lane4.cookie-notice | Remembers that you've seen the cookie notice. | Until you clear site data |
lane4.actingClub | For Lane4 support staff only: the club they're helping. | Until they switch back |
| Push notification service worker and token | Delivers notifications to this device, only if you turn them on. | Until you turn them off |
These are stored in your browser's local storage and IndexedDB rather than as traditional cookies, but the same rules apply.
Other sites
When you pay a club online, you pay on Stripe's or GoCardless's own pages. They use their own cookies to process the payment securely and prevent fraud. See Stripe's cookie policy and GoCardless's cookie policy.
Controlling it
You can clear Lane4's storage at any time in your browser's settings (look for “site data” for lanefour.uk). You'll be signed out and anything you chose, like dark mode, will reset. Blocking this storage altogether stops Lane4 from keeping you signed in.
If we ever add anything that isn't essential, such as analytics, we'll ask for your consent first and update this page.
